Georgia Distilleries

Welcome to “The Peach State,” where summers are muggy and winters are nearly non-existent! You’ll find Georgia to be a great place to vacation during the winter if you’re used to regular snow and ice storms further north. However, warm weather and ocean views aren’t all Georgia has to offer. Georgia distilleries are actually part of a more active scene than you might have guessed.

There are more than twenty Georgia distilleries, and they are all unique in their methods and dedication to the craft. Considering the size of the state, Georgia distilleries might be a bit more spread out than the efficient tourist might like. However, there are good concentrations in cities like Atlanta and Kennesaw. In fact, these two towns are only about a half hour from each other.

If you’re looking for the most efficient way to visit a large number of Georgia distilleries, flying into Atlanta is definitely your best bet. You can visit the seven distilleries in Metro Atlanta (Decatur, Lilburn, Chamblee), then travel a half hour north to visit the four distilleries in Kennesaw. From there, Cumming, GA is only about an hour east – so it’s another good pick.

If you want to visit the other handful of Georgia distilleries, you’ll be doing quite a bit of driving – the other distilleries in the state are all over an hour outside of Atlanta. Regardless, your time won’t be wasted. Georgia distilleries have so much to offer! Plus, while you’re in the state, make sure to check out common attractions like the Georgia Aquarium and the Martin Luther King Jr. national historic site – both right in Atlanta.

Realistically, if you’re looking for a great way to spend your time touring Georgia distilleries, Atlanta is a fantastic place to start. We hope you enjoy your time in this beautiful state!
