Idaho Distilleries

So, you’ve arrived in “The Gem State,” or you’re planning a trip pretty soon. While you’re there, it would be a great time to visit some Idaho distilleries! Here at Distillery Nearby, we line up all of the local distilleries for you – by state – so that you can make the most out of your time in a new state; or, so you can discover new distilleries in your very own state!

Idaho, as you probably already know, is a big state, and it’s shaped with a sort of “chimney” up in the northern end that stretches all the way to Canada. Plus, a lot of central and northern Idaho is made up of national forests – meaning that there aren’t efficient highways traveling north to south and east to west.

However, this all being considered, Idaho is potato country! You’ll find some of the best craft distilleries here due to this – if you don’t mind getting to them. We recommend you start your journey with the Idaho distilleries in Boise, the capital. This city is easy to fly into, and you’ll be able to catch a flight from Boise to Spokane, Washington later in your trip.

If you start in Boise, you’ll be greeted with four of the Idaho distilleries on your list. Then, a fifth is a short thirty-eight-minute drive away in Caldwell, ID. Once you’ve visited these, your best bet is to hop that plane into Washington and drive twenty-seven minutes to Post Falls, ID – there, you’ll be greeted by Up North Distillery.

After that, Sandpoint, ID is an hour's drive northeast, where you will find Mill Town Distillery. However, this will only get you to seven of the twelve Idaho distilleries. Where you go is up to you – however, we recommend you don’t miss out on the others if you have the time.
