Indiana Distilleries

You’ve arrived in “The Hoosier State!” Welcome to a land filled with corn fields, flat land, and beautiful country sunsets! If you are looking for a great place to visit distilleries, you’ve certainly picked the right state – Indiana distilleries are spectacular, and the people running them are passionate about their craft.

It might go without saying that you’ll find the most Indiana distilleries per square mile in Indiana’s largest city: Indianapolis. Luckily, there’s an international airport right here, the Indianapolis International Airport. However, flying into Chicago’s O’Hare is also a valid option – especially if you want to work your way from northern Indiana down to southern Indiana. One valid route might take you from O’Hare all the way down to the John Glenn Columbus International Airport.

However, if you’re looking for the most efficient way to hit as many Indiana distilleries as possible, we recommend flying into Indianapolis, where there are seven distilleries, to start. From there, you’ll find nine Indiana distilleries within one hour’s drive of the big city. These are in the cities of Zionsville, Lebanon, Carmel, Martinsville, Sheridan, Fortville, and Anderson.

If you only visit those sixteen Indiana distilleries, you’ve already had an amazing trip! However, some of Indiana’s gems are on the outskirts of the state.

If you’re looking to visit some of Indiana’s greatest, best-rated distilleries, your journey might take you to Hard Truth Distilling Co. or Bear Wallow Distillery in Nashville, ID (an hour outside of Indianapolis). We also hear that The Indiana Whiskey Company in South Bend, ID comes highly recommended – and is an especially smart trip if you love whiskey.

Regardless of how you choose to divvy up your time amongst Indiana distilleries, we know you won’t be disappointed! Indiana is a vibrant scene for craft distilling, and each unique distillery is sure to not let you down.
