Louisiana Distilleries

Welcome to Louisiana! Whether you’re here for Mardi Gras festivities or some other event, you’ve come to one of the best states in the country! If you’re here to visit Louisiana distilleries, you’re certainly in for a fantastic time – the rich history of this area of the country means that its distilleries have something very special to offer you while you’re here.

If you’re thinking about flying into Louisiana, your best bet is to come into the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. This puts you only twenty-one minutes from the very heart of Louisiana’s distillery scene – New Orleans. You’ll find twelve distilleries and tour companies here in the heart of Louisiana; this is certainly plenty to make a vacation worthwhile without driving out of the city.

However, if you do want to make a trip out of New Orleans to visit some of the outliers, you won’t be let down. We recommend you make the one-hour trek northwest out to Baton Rouge – on the way, stop in Gonzales, LA for Sugarfield Spirits Co. Once you get to Baton Rouge, you have four more Louisiana distilleries to keep you busy.

All the other Louisiana distilleries are a bit out of the way, but if you have the time to visit all of them, your time wouldn’t be ill-spent.

If you’re looking for just a few distilleries to visit while you’re in “The Pelican State,” we have to recommend the state’s top three: The Sazerac House in New Orleans, Bayou Rum Distillery in Lacassine, and Oxbow Rum Distillery in Baton Rouge.

Regardless of which of the Louisiana distilleries you choose to visit while you’re here, we know you’ll have an amazing time experiencing the rich history and culture that Louisiana has to offer. Don’t forget to stop and enjoy the outdoors while you’re here – Louisiana is home to some beautiful, stunning state parks.
