Massachusetts Distilleries

Welcome to “The Bay State,” a quintessential New England state that will give you all of the oceanside vibes. This state is home to more than thirty Massachusetts distilleries, making it the perfect spot to hunker down, enjoy New England life, and enjoy distilleries while you’re at it!

You’ll probably be flying into Boston Logan International Airport, which just happens to be along the beautiful Atlantic coastline. If you’ve been to New England before, you’ll know that the rocky Atlantic coastline is home to lobster trapping and much more marine excitement. Naturally, while you’re visiting Massachusetts distilleries, you have to stop and have lobster rolls or some of their famous clam “chowdah.”

Coming into Boston will have its perks, of course – being one of the biggest cities in Massachusetts, Boston has a few distilleries and a tour group or two. You’ll also find Massachusetts distilleries close by (within fifty minutes) in Charlestown, Everett, Belmont, and Salem. Realistically, you could take a trip into Boston to visit some distilleries and never have to worry about driving far.

However, if you really want to dig into Massachusetts distilleries and the culture that surrounds distilling in the state, we highly recommend the state’s top five – these will take you all over the state. Two of the top five are right in Boston: Privateer Rum Distillery and Bully Boy Distillers. The other three will take you on a journey!

GlenPharmer Distillery in Franklin will take you about one hour southwest, while Berkshire Mountain distillers is another two hours west towards the New York Border. You also won’t want to miss out on a Nantucket gem, Triple Eight Distillery. This trip will take you on a ferry to Massachusetts’ scenic, southeastern island.

And, don’t forget to visit museums, historic sites, and other attractions that interest you while you’re visiting Massachusetts distilleries! Take your time to enjoy all that Massachusetts has to offer – you won’t be disappointed!
