This means that you, realistically, have your pick of half of this state's distillery offerings, all without driving too far.

Looking for the closest New Jersey distilleries if you’re staying in Newark? Your best bets will be All Points West Distillery in Newark, Heathermeade Distilling (16m) in Kenilworth, Corgi Spirits Distillery (21m) in Jersey City, and three about 30 minutes away in Fairfield: Claremont Distilled Spirits, Jersey Artisan Distilling, and Jersey Spirits Distilling.

If you do find yourself traveling down to Lower Township, make sure to stop in at the other distilleries along the way, like Cape May Distillery in Cape May Court House.
