If you’re visiting the state for North Carolina distilleries, your best bets are either to fly into Charlotte Douglas International Airport or Raleigh-Durham International Airport. These are both great options, as one will put you in Charlotte and the other will start you off in Raleigh. Now, from each city, you have tons of distilleries at your fingertips and within an hour’s driving distance.

If you land in Charlotte, you’re looking at four North Carolina distilleries in the city itself, and eight more within an hour of you in the following cities: Huntersville (19m), Belmont (20m), Indian Trail (31m), Kings Mountain (37m), Mt Pleasant (42m), Statesville (44m), Newton (52m), and Conover (55m). And, it’s easy to get from Charlotte to Raleigh – it’s only an hour-long flight.

If you’re in Raleigh, you have access to six in-town North Carolina distilleries and fifteen more within an hour of you – six of which are in a single city, Durham (31m). The other cities close to you will be Garner (13m), Knightdale (19m), Clayton (24m), Zebulon (26m), Benson (34m), Chapel Hill (38m), and Pittsboro (42m).

However, don’t forget that these listed North Carolina distilleries are only about 40% of what the state has to offer.
