South Carolina Distilleries

Welcome to “The Palmetto State!” If you’re here to visit South Carolina distilleries, you’ll be pleased to find out that there are more than thirty in the state. However, they’re sprinkled all over the state, making them a bit hard to get to, especially if you want to be efficient.

Now, for your first trip into the state to see South Carolina distilleries (or if you’re a local looking for some to visit), your best bet for efficiency is going to be to get right into Charleston via the Charleston International Airport. This is probably not going to come as a surprise to you if you’ve already been to other states to visit their distilleries. The largest city in a state usually has the highest concentration of distilleries.

And, in South Carolina, that’s surely the case. In Charleston alone, you’re looking at six of the thirty or so South Carolina distilleries that you can visit. These distilleries alone would take you about a week to get through, so they make for a great first trip into the state.

However, here at Distillery Nearby, we don’t want you to forget about those gems, too. For example, down in Daufuskie Island, you’ll find two South Carolina distilleries nestled in a quaint little island town, only accessible by ferry!

If you’re the type of distillery tourist that likes to see the best of the best, we recommend that you find time to fit these three on your list of must-sees: Six & Twenty Distillery in Greenville, Carolina Moon Distillery in Edgefield, and Lucky Duck Distillery in Yemassee. These three are three hours, three hours, and one and a quarter hours from Charleston, respectively.

Regardless of how you choose to spend your time while visiting South Carolina distilleries, we know you’ll enjoy every minute of your tours in “The Palmetto State!” Have fun!
